Urinary Incontinence & Infections
Urinary Incontinence & Infections

Description
Loss of bladder control, often known as urinary incontinence, is a frequent and frequently unpleasant issue. The intensity can range from occasionally dribbling pee when you cough or sneeze to having a sudden, intense urge to urinate that prevents you from reaching a restroom in time.
Urinary leakage can also be brought on by a urinary tract infection, or UTI. Urination pain, urgency, frequent urination, and passing only tiny volumes of urine at a time are the most typical signs of a UTI.
Treatments
Problems with the muscles and nerves that support the bladder’s ability to contain or release pee are the most common causes of urinary incontinence. These muscles and nerves may have issues as a result of certain health conditions that are specific to women, such as pregnancy, delivery, and menopause. Overweight is one of the other reasons of urine incontinence.
Anticholinergics
These drugs may help with urge incontinence and can soothe an overactive bladder. Tolterodine (Detrol), darifenacin (Enablex), fesoterodine (Toviaz), solifenacin (Vesicare), and trospium chloride are a few examples.
Alpha blockers
These drugs relax the muscles in the prostate and the bladder neck, making it simpler for men with urge incontinence or overflow incontinence to empty their bladder. Tamsulosin (Flomax), alfuzosin (Uroxatral), silodosin (Rapaflo), and doxazosin are some examples.
Mirabegron
This medicine can increase the amount of urine your bladder can hold and is used to treat urge incontinence. It relaxes the bladder muscle. Additionally, it might allow you to urinate more frequently, which would help you completely empty your bladder.
Topical estrogen
Toning and rejuvenation of tissues in the urethra and vaginal areas may be aided by the topical application of low-dose oestrogen in the form of a vaginal cream, ring, or patch.
